Benagil Sea Cave

The Benagil cave is a beautiful cave in the Algarve, Portugal. Benagil can be found southeast of Carvoeira in the southwest of the Algarve. What makes this cave special is that you can only reach the beach in the cave through the water. Therefore many people visit the cave by boat or by canoe. You can also swim to the cave. From Praia de Benagil beach it is only a 150 swim to the cave. Swimming to the cave can be dangerous because there are always boats sailing to and from the cave and the current can suddenly be strong. From Praia de Benagil you can also walk to the cave via a footpath. Then you can look into the cave from above.

With sunrise and sunset, a visit to the cave is more than worth it. the light often falls beautifully through the hole in the ceiling of the cave, turning the rocks yellow and red.
